Named after the towering sequoia trees, which symbolize strength and resilience, Secoya Learning Center provides a nurturing learning environment in the Osa Peninsula that encourages children to grow tall and strong in both mind and spirit. Inspired by nature’s wisdom, we set out to build a Costa Rica education model that combines hands-on learning with real-world experiences through a unique curriculum.

We are a family of four who relocated from Canada to the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica in 2022 with the vision of creating a unique educational environment for our children. Our goal was to move away from traditional schooling and provide them with opportunities for growth that extend beyond typical Costa Rica education. We wanted to ensure our children could develop academically, socially, physically, creatively, and emotionally, while exploring a unique curriculum that fosters well-rounded development beyond the usual classroom experience offered by private schools. This approach allows them to experience the world differently.

We founded our school, the Secoya Learning Center, to provide children with a recognized education in Costa Rica, specifically on the beautiful Osa Peninsula. As a family-run business supporting other families, we strive to ensure that each child is truly seen, heard, and valued. Our unique curriculum helps every student reach their full potential—not just academically, but also culturally, artistically, and physically. Our immersive and tailored approach offers more than just traditional academics; it creates a truly global learning experience that fosters a lifelong love of learning.

We are committed to helping your child achieve nationally recognized qualifications through our unique curriculum at the Secoya Learning Center, ensuring a smooth transition back to traditional schools or when applying to universities around the world, including those in Costa Rica education and the Osa Peninsula.
